The Mississippi Department of Health has approved a certificate
of need

The Mississippi Department of Health has approved a certificate of need (CON) for Madison Regional Medical Center. The CON allows Madison Regional to relocate and replace its existing hospital on Mississippi 16 East in Canton to a location in Madison County on Nissan Parkway. The total cost of the project is approximately $42.13 million. The facility is wholly owned subsidiary of Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates (“HMA”), which owns, leases and operates nine acute care hospitals in Mississippi. Attorneys Tom Kirkland and Allison Simpson with the firm represented HMA at the administrative hearing.
