Ronald T. (Ronnie) Russell is a licensed Mississippi attorney who specializes in workers’ compensation law. Ronnie is a resident of Gulfport, Mississippi. He attended the University of Mississippi where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1967, and in 1971 he received his Juris Doctor in law from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
From 1971 to 1976 Ronnie served as a field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board in New Orleans, Louisiana where he investigated and prosecuted unfair labor practice claims. In 1976 Ronnie was appointed to the position of Administrative Judge with the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission where he served as a judge from 1976 to 1985. Based on his prior experience with State and Federal agencies, the present focus of Ronnie’s practice is primarily defending employers and carriers in State and Federal workers` compensation cases and employment related matters. He has tried a vast number of cases as an administrative judge and as an attorney before the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation commission and before Mississippi Circuit and Appellate Judges. He has also litigated a large number of cases before Administrative Law Judges assigned to hear cases of federal agencies of the Department of Labor.
Ronnie has been selected by his peers for inclusion in annual editions of The Best Lawyers in America from 1999 to the present in the specialty of workers’ compensation law. He was also selected for membership by Outstanding Lawyers of America.
He is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and is a Martindale-Hubbell A-rated Lawyer.
