Eric Toney was born on November 7, 1980 in McComb, Mississippi. Mr. Toney grew up in Tylertown, Mississippi before making the Jackson area his home in 1999. He attended Mississippi College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies in 2003. Following his undergraduate study, Mr. Toney received his law degree at Mississippi College School of Law in 2006. While in law school, he interned under Presiding Justice Kay B. Cobb of the Supreme Court of Mississippi. In addition, he was an active member of the Moot Court Board, having participated in both regional and national appellate advocacy competitions. Mr. Toney earned several awards during law school including American Jurisprudence Awards in Appellate Advocacy and Legal Research and Writing.
Mr. Toney practices primarily in the firm’s insurance defense and litigation sections. He is admitted to practice before all Mississippi state courts, federal district courts, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association, and the Madison County Bar Association.
