JULIE MITCHELL, with a masters in health law, is a recognized authority on healthcare issues. As her primary focus is in healthcare law, Mrs. Mitchell advises clients on legal, regulation and business issues, including but not limited to: Stark, fraud and abuse, Medicare and Medicaid payment issues, corporate compliance, CON laws, provider and physician contracting, healthcare corporate matters, hospital law, nursing home law, DMEPOS matters, licensure and certification, state and federal healthcare surveys, HIPAA, and healthcare integration. In addition to her representation of clients in the healthcare arena, Mrs. Mitchell has lectured on numerous occasions regarding emerging issues in healthcare law, including lectures to the Mississippi Bar Health Law Section, students of Mississippi College School of Law, as well as various healthcare associations and providers. Mrs. Mitchell is also an associate member of the Independent Nursing Home Association and Mississippi Healthcare Association, and an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Committee for Long Term Care and the Law, and has served on the Governor’s task force for HIPAA implementation in Mississippi.
