Marisa Campbell Atkinson was born in Jackson, Mississippi, March 13, 1977. A Rankin County-native, Ms. Atkinson was reared in Brandon, Miss., and Baytown, Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with her Bachelor’s of Art in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations in 1998. Upon graduating from Mississippi State, Ms. Atkinson worked in the Jackson area in the field of public relations.
Ms. Atkinson attended the University of Mississippi School of Law and earned her Juris Doctor in 2003. While in law school, she was a member of the Journal of National Security Law, Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity, Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity and the University of Mississippi Civil Legal Clinic (domestic violence clinic, elder law clinic).
Ms. Atkinson also authored How to Succeed in the Mississippi Gaming Industry ... Sorry, But you Can’t, 7 GAMING L.R. 153 (April 2003).
Practicing in the firm’s general litigation section, Ms. Atkinson is admitted to practice before all Mississippi state courts, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association , the Madison County Bar Association and the Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division.
