Philip Chapman was born on March 19, 1976 in Starkville, Mississippi. He grew up in Brandon, Mississippi before attending Millsaps College, where he received a B.S. degree in Biology in 1997 and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to attending Law School, Mr. Chapman attended medical school at the University of Mississippi from 1997 to 1999. He received his Juris Doctor in 2004 from the Mississippi College School of Law. While attending Mississippi College, he was a member of the Law Review, and also received the American Jurisprudence Award in Wills and Estates.
Mr. Chapman enjoys a diverse practice which includes mass tort litigation, products liability defense, premises liability defense and healthcare law. In having such a diverse area of practice, he has represented clients in matters involving asbestos and silica defense, and various healthcare matters including fraud and abuse, Medicare and Medicaid payment, CON laws, licensure and certification, and state and federal healthcare surveys. In September 2004, he was admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Mississippi and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Chapman is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and the Jackson Young Lawyers. He and his wife, Anne, reside in Brandon. |
